Training

The basic thrust of the Academy is to impart quality judicial training to all the stakeholders of justice delivery system. The Academy pledges to impart need based or personalized training to all the trainee Judicial Officers. The academy has the objective to conduct foundation courses for the pre-appointment trainees as well as the new recruits of judicial service, orientation programmes, advanced training and refresher courses for the serving judicial officers regularly. The foundation training has 2(two) parts - theoretical and practical. During theoretical training, endeavour shall be put to arm the judicial officers with nitty-gritty as well as nuances of different subjects from the realm of law. The theoretical training shall also include classroom deliberation on stress and time management, court management, forensic science, etc. During practical training, Court attachment of the trainees, visit to Police establishments, Jails, Revenue Department, Forensic Laboratory are to be undertaken. Right now, the Academy is imparting training to Judicial officers of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh and in-service training to the Judicial Officers of North Eastern States. The Academy also imparts training to Public Prosecutors, Additional Public Prosecutors, Assistant Public Prosecutors, Police, Executive Magistrates and staff of the subordinate judiciary as per requirement. The Academy holds conference in different legal subjects with a view to enriching judicial education and developing judicial skills amongst the Judicial Officers.
